"Fairy Powder Puff"

This is what I envision that fairies would use to apply face powder or bath powder. It is the flower of the Mimosa tree here in the South.

The technical name is Albizia julibrissin from the Durazz family, Legumunosea; otherwise know as the Persian Acacia or Silk Tree or Pink Siris. It is a native of western Asia. The flowers open in July and August (maybe in other parts of the world, but they are blooming now in Atlanta). Their long pink stamens give the appearance of a soft brush.
